This traditional series Collings D1A T is an absolutely fantastic dreadnought guitar. Featuring an Adirondack spruce top, paired with a gorgeous set of Honduran Mahogany, this vintage-inspired build sports the latest features in the Traditional Series. Here with the new Traditional Series neck, with a nitro finish to match the body, and new t-bar inspired truss-rod setup, this D1A is another leap in the evolution of what makes a Collings flattop. This series is highlighted by traditional style bracing and tone woods which are adjusted, weighed and voiced to produce a vintage-inspired tone.
Tonally this 14-fret dreadnought has a quick string response, strong fundamental, and is a dynamic guitar that can be played sweetly, or driven hard with plenty of headroom. Warm, rounded highs with a mid-low range that speaks quickly, but isn't boomy, makes this a real joy to play.
Subtle details like the rolled fingerboard edge, tortoise bridge and end-pins, the gold MOP Collings Logo make this an understated, yet beautiful guitar - even the Ebony headstock veneer on this particular guitar makes a classy statement. Includes a Collings-branded TKL Hardshell case and a free setup from our crew of luthiers.
